Amanda’s Philosophy
Patient Centered Care
I believe that the best approach to care is one that is patient focused. I look at health and illness through the lens of the whole person, and believe that optimal health can only be achieved when all aspects of the individual, including physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental are addressed. By providing my patients with up-to-date information regarding health decisions, treatment and prevention, I have the privilege of serving as a partner in my patient’s healthcare journey.
What Makes Phillips Different
Patient-Provider Collaboration
Amanda is dedicated to providing holistic care and seeks to empower patients by equipping them with knowledge and support to manage current and chronic conditions. By having the opportunity to serve as a partner in her patients healthcare journey, her primary focus is to address and eliminate the underlying cause of illness rather than alleviate presenting symptoms. Amanda strives to demystify the healthcare experience by building a trusting relationship with patients that is rooted in mutual respect. As a lifetime learner, Amanda ensures that her patients are receiving optimal health care and education by staying current on new treatment guidelines and recommendations.
Amanda is grateful to be working in an integrative practice with some of the best holistic doctors and practitioners in the nation. Having a team approach allows our patients to take advantage of different treatment modalities that further improve health outcomes and overall happiness and wellbeing.
Amanda had the unique opportunity of being one the Veterans Affair’s San Diego Healthcare System PRIME Grant Recipients while completing her graduate studies. This allowed her to proudly serve San Diego’s veteran population. Amanda is grateful to all current and former military members for their service
Modality & Practice
Amanda is a certified Adult & Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. She focuses on healthy aging from late adolescence and early adulthood throughout the continuum of the aging adult and into advanced age. Amanda focuses on direct patient care, adult health maintenance, the diagnosis and management of chronic health problems, and the assessment and management of common health conditions.
Amanda emphasizes the importance of annual exams and understands that for some patients, the annual exam serves as the only opportunity to address the many aspects of health and wellbeing. She utilizes this opportunity to formulate individual wellness plans & ensure appropriate screenings are performed based on age and current health care conditions or symptoms. She understands that unforeseen circumstances may prevent patients from receiving consistent care over time and that lapses in care may occur- she wants all her patients to know that regardless of how involved they have been in their healthcare journey in the past, she is here to empower you in taking control of your healthcare today!
Annual exams and screenings are an opportunity to focus on disease prevention and health promotion. Preventative care can include immunizations, lab tests, and screenings that detect indicators on a range of conditions such as:
- Breast cancer
- Cervical cancer
